Happy new year!
May this be an illuminating and rewarding year for you and those you love.
While the Sun and Moon establish our calendars, the planets don’t care much for the straight lines we draw between years. Thankfully there is some alignment with a couple of planetary periods coming to an end as we initiate our new beginning.
Jupiter is now released from the retrograde grip and is launched directly into Uranus’s lighting storm. Mercury, still in Jupiter’s sign, is also benefiting from this turn around as it too is released from the back pull of retrogradation. Release and relief should ensue as this year gets into gear.
With so much intense shit hitting the fan lately, there’s some positives on the immediate horizon. By identifying them we can consciously direct our attention in this first quarter of 2024 and maximise the energies available.
Let’s go!
First up, some announcements and updates:
My books are now open for January appointments. If you’d like to have a heads up about which energies are coming in and when, January is a great month to do a Year Ahead reading.
I’ve been receiving an increase in Horary questions in the last few months, and I’m not sad about it! If you’ve never asked a Horary and have a burning question, or a situation you want clarification on, this astrological technique is, dare I say, rather magical. You can read more about it here. Hit me up!
This is a sweet testimony I received about a recent Horary question:
Dru’s delineation blew my mind. Their precision on my circumstances around my question baffled me. I asked horary questions before, but they took the answer to a whole new and much deeper level than any other astrologer before. I am grateful I was referred to them. Their warm and compassionate delivery crowned my whole experience. Thank you, Dru!!
And, thank you!
I’d like to also take a moment to personally thank the entire Millennial generation for literally changing the world! We can now go to job interviews in less formal clothes, have the option of working from home, rest assured that sexual harassment in the workplace will be taken seriously, while astrologers can make a crust on platforms like Substack. It’s quite remarkable for a generation only just starting to turn 40!
They’ve also popularised astrology, which is a double edged sword that many of us are benefiting from. Being a specific niche I very much appreciate the support from those of you who are free subscribers, and those who are now paid subscribers please know I’m touched, sincerely. You choosing the paid subscription tier means a lot, and I now feel a responsibility to give you your money’s worth!
Being off social media since early October, the creativity and dreamscapes that have opened up are really hard to rescind. Not to mention the quality of my sleep. Just because I’m not on the socials doesn’t mean I don’t want to connect. Quite the contrary, actually. I want to be more intentional with how I do that. While I don’t want to release everything to the world, I would like to share more with you personally, so I will endeavour to do that with your support.
In becoming a paid subscriber you have full access to my posts each month, and free admittance to our monthly online meet-ups (heads up: that’s a liberal use of that time frame) where we discuss current events, astrological cycles and ingresses, and see how it is impacting personal charts in the group. It’s a lot of fun! By subscribing I listen to you and write about the issues you’re interested in - celebrities, social change, advancements in technology, astrological cycles and patterns. You name it…or, nay-mum, nay-mum, for any RHOBH fans.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, sign up for a month and see how you go. It’s about the price of a coffee, less than a packet of cigarettes, and much cheaper than a tank of petrol…and it will take you further!
Ok, 2024…
Twenty-twenty tor
Jupiter finally came to a halt on December 30th after four months trekking backwards along the crags of Taurus.
Being the greater benefic, Jupiter offers expansion, growth and broadening of understanding. When retrograde in Taurus, progress can feel unbelievably slow, business growth can feel frustrating, and learning can plateau, making us aware of where we need a refresh.
If you have been feeling blocked, frustrated, or like things are taking waaaaay toooo loooong to gain momentum, it’s possible that Jupiter has been chewing the cud and making space for a lil’ extra learning before moving ahead. Good news is: the lights are now green!
Where is Jupiter stationing at 5° Taurus in your chart?
From this sturdy-rocky-Taurus view, standing on all you have built thus far, which direction will you advance in 2024? Where is Jupiter granting you growth, learning and a refresh? Grab the reins because there is a destination on the horizon. More about this below.
Twenty-twenty explore
When Jupiter starts moving forward in the beginning of 2024, it will release from the retrograde slingshot and head straight toward a once every 14 year conjunction with Uranus. There will be sparks flying off the Taurus barbie come April 18th - 21st, 2024.
Personally, I love Jupiter~Uranus cycles. I’ve known a few Jupiter-Uranus folks in my life and I love travelling along Uranus lines. I find it exciting, stimulating and a great opportunity to break free of limitations and habits.
Uranus is often referred to as The Great Awakener. Like any outer planet, it impacts us all at the collective level via the subconscious, trends and mass movements. On a personal level, it can renovate the house - be it your physical abode or where you find safety and comfort. Unlike Taurus, whom we rely on for longevity and stability, Uranus moves at the speed of light. It illuminates and energises like an electrical storm; it’s a mix of terrifying and exciting. It jolts us out of well-worn patterns that have morphed into oppressive trappings. It illuminates where we have calcified and strips things back so quickly there is no time to emotionally respond.
Green means go and directing this energy with conscious intention through the Jupiter~Uranus portal has massive potential.
Whatever has been frustrating you in your Taurus terrain recently; where your rigidity, stubbornness or own personal blocks have been challenged, whatever Jupiter Rx has been holding you back from, asking you to pause and reflect upon is now released for conscious navigation.
These themes and areas of life are set for an upgrade, for new life to be breathed into them. It’s less of a game changer like the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in January 2020, and more like a springboard offering you a boost to make change/s. It’s a push to catapult you into new, foreign, undiscovered terrain which opens up a whole new vista.
Exciting, right?
Collectively, the Jupiter Uranus conjunction at 21° Taurus should signal a new leap in technological innovation; an expansion upon what we already have. Heads up for AI morphing into its next incarnation, algorithms rapidly being altered and a further merging within the realm of biotechnology.
The twist is that it also occurs when malefics, Mars & Saturn, also meet in Pisces. Whether this transit lands as uncomfortable or energising depends on how tightly you’re holding on out of fear of change, and how willing you are to release, forge ahead and welcome the new.
Send some energy forward to yourself so you can fully receive this when it materialises.
If you have any planets or points near, or in aspect to, 21° Taurus, they will be offered a spring board come April, 2024.

Messenger Mercury is dragging its heels in its last days of being retrograde in Sagittarius. I know this Centaur terrain well. While I loooove travelling, it’s arriving at the destination that switches up the energy and takes a minute to adjust.
When travelling through India earlier this century, I bought a few train tickets for journey’s that lasted days on end. One memorable trip was from Delhi, straight down the guts to Tiruvanamali and across to Puducherry, over the days of a Full Moon. I could have quite happily stayed on that train up and down the country, no problem!
Mercury retrograde in Jupiter’s sign, while Jupiter has also been Rx = extra Merc Perks. It’s a bit like travelling in India with an itinerary. Good luck! Nothing goes to plan, but if you throw the plan out the window and lean into the flow, it’s a guaranteed adventure. You never know who you might meet and what you might learn.
